Lieutenant Kimberly Mapp began her law enforcement career in corrections in 2012 at the Lamar County Jail. She is currently the lead Training Officer, Administrative assistant, and Policy writer for Corrections at the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office. She earned her Police training certification in 2019 at the Columbia Law Enforcement Training Academy (CLETA).

Kimberly holds multiple certifications in various communication techniques, administrative support, and leadership development planning with the National Institute of Corrections. She also expanded her credentials with a certificate in Critical Tasks in Corrections and Operations and Reducing Liability through the Legal & Liability Risk Management Institute. With this certification, she can help teach corrections members how to reduce incidents and minimize legal liability. Moreover, she has also been certified with Axon where she became a taser instructor. This training enables her to handle all of the taser certifications at the Lamar County Jail.

In 2018, Kimberly had the honor to become a state-certified law enforcement instructor. She was a founding member of The Columbia Law Enforcement Training Academy’s Corrections Academy and now holds the Police and Correction Academy Training Coordinator position at CLETA.

In addition to all her roles in the law enforcement setting, she is the Children’s Ministry Director at Richburg Baptist Church and a loving mother to her two daughters, Emily and Ava.
