Clayton D. Holmes earned his Police Training Certification in 2016 at the Columbia Law Enforcement Training Academy, where he held the highest marks of his class in the areas of firearms and physical fitness. He also received the highest honor for a cadet upon graduation. Once certified he accepted a position at Tylertown Police Department where he is still sworn today along with Columbia Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and Walthall County Sheriff’s Office.

He is a member of the Emergency Services Unit (ESU) at the Columbia Police Department. He has extensive experience in active shooter training along with providing long-range interdiction, protection, and surveillance for the citizens of Columbia and the surrounding area.
In 2016 He accepted a position at the Columbia Law Enforcement Training Academy, where he is a certified Law enforcement Instructor in firearms and tactics. He holds certification through the America Sports and Fitness Association (A.S.F.A.) for physical training which allows him to lead all Physical Training through the Columbia Law Enforcement Training Academy. He has demonstrated exemplary marksmanship as well as holding Instructor certification with the NRA Pistol/ shotgun law enforcement training course and is certified by the FBI as a law enforcement firearms instructor.

In addition to his current positions, Clayton frequently speaks on the topics of Active Shooter, Concealed Carry Weapons, and safe firearms handling with local Churches, Women’s groups, and businesses in the area. He is also currently the coach for the MS 4-H rifle team that will compete nationally.
